Grace at the Graveyard

Listen beloved, I love Him because he redeemed me from the hand of the enemy.  But not only that, but I want you to understand that the Lord has:
The grace that shows up at the graveyard; the women show up on Resurrection Sunday Morning and the angel of the Lord tells them, He’s not here.”  It’s a powerful moment, affirming the fact that He said, he was who He said He was.  As a matter of fact beloved, His ability to conquer death and the grave is a witness to us that no matter what our situation is we are yet conquerors.  Jesus was put in a tomb but His absence in the tomb distinguishes Him from anybody else.  No other leader can say he got up on Resurrection Sunday Morning.  Muhammad is still in the grave; Confucius is still in the grave; Buddha is still in the grave; but Jesus, He’s alive and well!  He lives!  And what He did when He rose is that He:
  1. STRATEGICALLY REVERSED                                                                               curse of death.  Remember God told Adam and Eve, “You can have any tree in the garden, but don’t touch the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.  But the day you touch that, you shall surely die.”  And they did.  They ate of that tree and death invaded the Earth realm and now they began to die slowly.  When death invaded the Earth, satan got the keys to death and the grave.  He then becomes the prince of the power of this air.  He walks to and fro on this Earth seeking whom he may devour.  His whole job description is that he can now come and seek, kill and destroy.  But God says, “I have come that you might have life and that you might it more abundantly.”  So when Jesus died on the cross and He rose for the grave; he reversed the curse of death.  He took authority over death and the grave; and by conquering death and the grave, what happened in Eden was reversed.  The Apostle Paul declared it in I Corinthians 15, “death was swallowed up in victory.  O death, where is your sting.  O grave where is your victory.  The sting of death is sin and the power of sin is the law.  But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Therefore my beloved be steadfast, unmovable; always abounding in the work of the Lord, for you labor is not in vein.”  My brothers and sisters, He loved us so much that now man has a chance at Eternal life.  Pastor, why are you talking so much about relationship?  Because I need you to understand that there is a difference between relationship and religion.  There are some people who get so caught up in religion; the form and fashion of religion.  They get so caught up in religion, that if things don’t happen on the program you get upset.  You don’t feel like you’ve had church unless the choir has worn choir robes; unless the preacher has on black.  You don’t feel like you’ve had church until certain things happen but the problem with religion and formality is that the moment somebody in church hurts you, you’re gone.  But when you have a relationship with Christ, you declare, “I’m not here for people.  You don’t have to speak to me; you don’t have to like me; you can walk over me; guess what, you’re not going to phase me!  Because I’ll let nothing separate me from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus!
Beloved, we have a chance at eternal life; because the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life.  So, whatever is dead in your life now has a chance to come back.  Somebody here today, it looks like your marriage is dead; it looks like your career is dead; looks like your dreams are dead but I come to declare in this place today that God has reversed the curse; that whatever was dead in your life, it no longer has to be dead another day.  Grace is available to you at the graveyard.

If you knew you had one month to live, how would you live differently?

Jesus Survival Weapon of Choice

Jesus' survival weapon of choice is Scripture. If the Bible was enough for His wilderness, shouldn't it be enough for ours? Don't miss the point here. Everything you and I need for desert survival s in the Book. We simply need to heed it.

Letting Go and Letting God

In order to move forward to receive the blessing that God has in store for us, we must forgive. We must forgive those who have wronged us in any way.
Pastor Cutler is asking us to write a letter of the people that have wronged you. Tell them how we feel and at the end of the letter forgive them. We are looking forward to setting these letter afire after Sunday's Service in a "Fire of Forgiveness"
Let Go and Let God!!!

Trusting the Lord

EMAIL RECEIVED: "When you are going through something hard and wonder where God is… remember the teacher is always quiet during a test. Trust in the Lord."
THOUGHT: To all who are trying to make a hard decision, we must decide who is going to run our life. Will we run our life or will we let go and let God? We must step out on faith and fully trust in the Lord and let the Holy Spirit lead us in the right direction. A direction that is fully submitted to God's will!
SCRIPTURE: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5
