 ORATORICAL CONTEST GUIDELINES
 
PARTICIPANT WILL BE JUDGED ON THE FOLLOWING
 
1.  Composition (knowledge of subject)                                                      30%
2.  Presentation (delivery, articulation and pronunciation)                          30%
3.  Originality (the work must be done by participant)                                 30%
4.  Poise (assurance of manner)                                                                 10%
5.  Orations – 3 to 5 minutes                                                                  ________
                                                                                                                  100%
 
  1. PENALTY:
     
    1. 10% - for going beyond the allotted time.
    2. 15% - if contents reveals his/her identity in any form
    3. 25% - (Ex: Name, Church, District, or Region affiliation
       
  2. SELECTING WINNER:
     
    The winner will be determined by a team of three (3) judges selected by the Committee.
     
  3. The Senior Competition winner will receive a $500 Scholarship; The First Place winner will receive $100.00 Prize; Second Place winner will receive $75 and the Third place winner will receive $50 awards.

POSTER CONTEST GUIDELINES
•Posters may be done in crayon, ink, paint, pencil, etc., and should reflect the MLK, Jr. theme 
    (Collages are acceptable).  (2020 Theme – “Endured the Past, Embrace the Present and Empowering Our Future” Philippians 4:11b-13 You may also use supporting scripture.) 
•All posters (art work) must be submitted at time of registration (and not later than 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 19, 2020 at St. Mark Baptist Church).
•Artists must be present
•All posters (art work) must be submitted unsigned (No personal names or church names on art work).
•Please have a youth leader or parent present to identify art work.
•High School students must submit their entries on poster board approximately 21” x 26”.
•Middle School and Elementary students may submit their entries on notebook paper, construction paper, or poster board.
•First place winner in each category will receive $50.00 prize.
